Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Headline (“Headline,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use tryheadline.com and related services (the “Service”). Headline is operated by Streamlined Processes, LLC, an Oklahoma limited liability company.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information — your name (optional), email address, and a securely hashed password.
- WordPress connection details — your site URL, WordPress username, and a WordPress application password. The application password is encrypted at rest and is never displayed back to you after saving.
- Site content — to provide SEO analysis and publishing, we read posts, pages, and related metadata from your connected WordPress site through its REST API.
- Usage data — records of actions like scans and refreshes, used to operate plan limits and improve the Service.
- Payment information — subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers; we retain limited billing status and customer identifiers from Stripe.
- Connected analytics — if you choose to connect Google Search Console or Google Analytics, we access read-only performance data to inform recommendations.
- AI provider key — if you connect your own AI provider key, it is stored encrypted and used only to perform the writing tasks you request through your chosen provider.
- Cookies and session data — we use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and secure the Service and your account.
- To connect to your WordPress site, analyze SEO, generate recommendations, and publish content you approve.
- To process payments, enforce plan entitlements, and manage subscriptions.
- To communicate with you about your account, security, and service updates.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or technical issues.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the Service:
- Service providers — Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (hosting and infrastructure), and Google APIs (only the analytics you connect).
- Your WordPress site — we send requests to your site using the credentials you provide.
- Your AI provider — when you use your own key, requests are sent to the provider you selected, under their terms.
- Legal and safety — where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
4. Data Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and encrypt sensitive credentials, including WordPress application passwords and AI provider keys, at rest. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using reasonable safeguards.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may disconnect sites or request deletion of your account, after which we delete or de-identify your data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, accounting, or security purposes.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Access, correct, or delete your account information.
- Disconnect any WordPress site or connected analytics at any time.
- Cancel your subscription through the billing portal.
- Request a copy or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.
7. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service relies on and may link to third-party services (such as Stripe, Cloudflare, Google, WordPress, and AI providers). Their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.
8. Children’s Privacy
The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Users
We operate in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand your information may be processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate we will provide additional notice.
